fso-gsmd software package provides freesmartphone.org GSM daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fso-gsmd
fso-gsmd is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fso-gsmd package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fso-gsmd *
You will get with fso-gsmd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
